The last long weekend (which ended yesterday, much to my dismay) was quite eventful. And expensive too. On Saturday, we went to the house and picked on the colours so that the contractor could start on his painting jobs. I couldn't help myself though when it comes to the kids' bedroom. Pink for Zareen and blue for Syafiq. As for the rest of the house, the usual off white/cream based colours.
Sunday was spent in IKEA. It was so damn big that I felt like I had to get out of there as soon as I could. It's normal for me to act like this because there were just so many things to consider so I ended up with nothing. But I did take a note on a few things so that I could come again and make real purchases. Not to mention the crowd.
Then, I had this crazy idea of buying a Treo 600. Of course, my dearest was up to the task but then I chickened out. Like he said, the readiness is not there yet, which actually referring to moi's attitude when it comes to gadgets. So, the subject was dropped.
We were heading off to my mum's house for the food when he suddenly wanted to go and window-furniture-shopping. I was thinking, okay, why not? since we haven't really done that anyway. So we went to this mega furniture mall that was besides the Sg Besi Highway. We didn't intend to buy anything because we wanted to wait for the house to be ready first then only we put in the furnitures. As usual, plans were just plans. Every single plan was scrapped off when we saw this nice looking dining table with a matching glass cabinet. My eyes were already on them the minute I went upstairs to check out more things. It's like this modern table with traditional looking chairs. To me, the rattan was the 'it' thing that really caught my eyes. And it was not the usual light-brown colored rattan. It was deep dark brown, just the way we both like it.
We pretended that we didn't like it so we told the nice chap that we're going to the other shops first before deciding on anything. But to tell you the truth, I hate furniture shopping. It's tiring and exhausting. And the fact that I didn't like the other shops' offerings didn't help either. So, we went back again to the first shop and that nice looking chap was waiting patiently at the entrance.
The damage was done. But it wasn't that bad. We got 4 big things for less than the price that we would normally pay if we bought them separately. And the man was really nice.
That's it. We are not going to shop for furniture again until we move to the new house. I don't think I'm up to that again. It's so different when compared to normal shopping. Furniture shopping needs a lot of checking out. It's there for years to come and you are not going to discard them just like you normally did with clothes.
Raya was spent quietly since the kids are still at kampung. But we did call and Zareen was wishing us non-stop. Talk about the new found excitement in talking. (She's turning 2 by the way)
Monday was spent lazying off and getting blowjobs. I was supposed to start on my revision for the exams but boy, I WAS lazy. I ended up doing nothing.
But I managed to start yesterday, And I went berserk because there were just so many chapters. I was like, when is it going to end? I was also thinking that I wasn't like this when I was in Uni. During those times, we were just relaxing all the way. Maybe that explains why my Uni grades were not that good. Maybe that was why I was trying harder this time, just to see whether I still had it in me. I dunno. I was just praying for total calmness in everything. And I didn't want to burden my head with so many things. Take one thing at a time. And learn to just let it be. (Not!)
Okay, I am getting a lil' carried away. I guess I have to go back to my books since there's virtually nothing on my desk that needs my attention.
(How many chapters left? Arrggghhhhh!!!)
